Patricia Wright is a 68-year-old woman incarcerated in southern California. She is also terminally ill with cancer; her doctor estimates she has less than six months to live. Yet because Patricia was given the sentence of Life Without Possibility of Parole, and because she has two prior charges from the 1980s, when she was homeless and stole a few bath towels, she is not eligible for compassionate release. This story follows the efforts of Patricia’s family, led by her sister Chantel Bonet, to get Patricia out against all odds–before it’s too late.
